Silanna

Silanna provides foundry services to customers wishing to design on Silicon-on-Sapphire. The company also supplies III-V epiwafers.

We offer three levels of service:

  1. Production Foundry; offering a complete service for wafer fab and outsourced test, package and assembly services upto moderate volumes.
  2. Fast Affordable Prototyping; offering quick turn arounds with minimal mask costs for low volumes.
  3. Epiwafers; high purity AlN, GaN or AlGaN epiwafers on Silicon or Sapphire.

Silicon-on-Sapphire services are available in a choice of two processes (0.25µm and 0.5µm), each with 3 variants.

Some of the advantages of using Silicon-on-Sapphire for your chip designs include:

  • Easy integration of RF, digital, mixed signal, passives and EEPROM on a single chip.
  • High frequency RF (>10GHz) CMOS
  • High Q integrated inductors (>40 at 2GHz for a 5nH inductor)
  • Very high linearity transistors (+38dBm IP3 mixers)
  • Excellent isolation
