One benefit of ESA membership is early exposure to opportunities to commercialise the outcomes of NICTA R&D.  At the recent event "Embedded Systems... The Smarts behind Safety & Security" NICTA presented some of its research directions:

• Advanced Surveillance and Face Recognition;
• Wireless Mesh Networks; and
• Smart Cameras.

Chris Nicol also explained the progress of the cluster and why Australia needs Embedded Systems Australia!
